For those of you who have read my blog over the years, you know I've been a Lion's fan my whole life, and it's been a torturous last 15 years….Basically since Barry Sanders retired...

…But we're 4-0 and and for the first time in God knows how long, on Monday Night Football, so I just needed to give a shout out to my Lions!  

It's probably the kiss of death, since anytime I start talking about how good they are, they fall apart, but I'm thinking it will even out, since they are on the cover of Sports Illustrated, so hopefully they'll cancel each other out.  

GO LIONS!!!

If everyone put 1/10 of the passion into what they do, as you did for what you "did", this world would be a much better place.  You've inspired me to never settle for "okay", no matter what I do, make it the best that it can be.

There are few people outside of my family and friends that have impacted my life in a way that Steve Jobs has.  Since I fell in love with the Apple II,  then later in life discovered the Macintosh IICi, and from there it was history.  Computers, iPods, iPhones, Apple TV's, iPads, iTunes, movie and music editting software....

Many years of my life, especially my younger days were spent indoors, dealing with type one diabetes and all its "fun".  Technology was an escape for me, without it I don't know what I would have done.  I was fascinated by it, and how it can make life easier, fun, more interesting.  It kept me sane.

I truly believe that his success came from his passion for people.  He himself was a consumer, and he hated bad products, bad support, bad design, etc.  He wanted to make the best products in every way from design, to support, to operation.   He was a consumer too.

I'm a big lover of music, was frustrated with portable CD players skipping when worn during any form of movement and only being able to hold 70 minutes of music, then along came mp3 players, I bought a few, but they were frustrating.  Hard to get music on, hard to organize, slow to load, slow to find songs…then along came the iPod.  I guarantee you Steve Jobs, was frustrated with MP3 players too, and wondered "Can't we do better than this."

Frustrated with the high cost of CD's, only wanting one song, having to buy the whole thing.  Napster began killing the market.  Steve Jobs was right, people didn't want to use Napster, but the music industry left them no choice.  Along comes iTunes, the only way I buy music.  

Then there is a little known product the Apple TV, which is the best way to watch and rent movies.  Now it's my preferred method of watching movies.  I don't want to have to go to a store, get a scratched DVD, bring it home then have to return it in a day or two.  I assure you, Steve Jobs didn't like it either.

I was frustrated with cell phones, went through dozens of them.  Couldn't sync my contact info, couldn't check email, user interface sucked, etc.  I bet Steve Jobs hated it also, and I bet he grabbed his team and said, "Let's make a phone that is the best at all of these things, don't skimp out on anything."

Wouldn't it be cool if I could put my music on my phone instead of carrying two devices around?  I bet Steve Jobs thought that as well.

 Pixar, need I say more?

 Then the iPad.  I didn't get the iPad, I thought it's just a big iPhone, then I got to use one and it became very clear, very fast that this was something game changing.

I could go on and on, needless to say, he was a hero of mine and he always seemed to knew what I was thinking.  I feel that a piece of my life had died, as if George Lucas had died.  

I truly hope that Apple can continue on it's path in honor of Steve Jobs.
